Raw broken cacao beans fit into a good lifestyle. This powerful superfood comes from Peru. Originating from the tropical climates of South America, the cacao tree Theobroma is sacred among the Maya and Aztecs. In themselves, cacao beans are a good "superfood" because they promote a variety of antioxidants and other nutrients. Produced by organic farmers in Peru, cacao beans contain more antioxidants than red wine and three times as many as green tea. Cacao beans embody a rich source of minerals. Hand-harvested as pods, the raw beans are selected for the best quality and fermented to reduce their initial bitterness. The production process fully preserves the nutritional value of the cacao without any additives.
